Unilateral epididymal tuberculosis with scrotal fistula: a case report

Tuberculosis (TB) affects millions of people globally every year. Although TB is predominantly a lung infection, it can affect almost any organ system in the body. Therefore, presentation be highly variable. Extrapulmonary accounts for up to 25% all reported cases, and lymphoreticular genitourinary systems are most frequently affected. However, male genital infection rare phenomenon. A clear majority patients with have concurrent pulmonary infection. We report patient presenting features suggestive usual epididymo-orchitis who later developed frank abscess perforation through scrotal fistula despite repeated antibiotic courses. He was diagnosed epididymal without involvement. Clinicians need vigilant tuberculous when accepted treatment bacterial infections invokes poor responses, especially areas endemicity.
